the consul-general of NY throws a dinner to welcome her to the city
and meet a few local Australian film folks. And Jus and I got to go too!
It was just 10 of us at John Olsen's (former SA premier) residence
near the UN and it was surprisingly relaxed. We met emma-kate croghan,
some ABC and Miramax folks and a locations manager that Justin
actually knew from Melbourne. Small world.
Some lovely Australian wines came out , as did the rum balls, as did
the ferraro rochers, which made me giggle. Recall that cheesy 90s
ferraro rocher tv ad where its a diplomat's party, he's wearing some
sash and Euro types are smiling and sipping champas? I always thought
'as if' but evidently it is true. It's all true.
